  J. A. WHIPPLE, the celebrated Daguerrian Artist, at No 96 Washington
street, has a wide and just reputation for his surprising skill and
complete facilities for taking Daguerreotypes, single or in groups.
Clubs, classes and others, who desire collective likenesses of
themselves, can here have them taken with the utmost fidelity to nature.
Mr Whipple has had ten years' practical experience in the art, and
obtained the highest premium for "the best groups" at the last Fair. Mr
Whipple has invented a curious and beautiful Fan, which creates a
cooling breeze in his rooms, and which will be a great luxury during the
warm weather. Ladies, if you have a few minutes spare time, call and
examine specimens.

A note from Gary:
I spotted something in the latest catalogue from the University of
New Mexico Press: a new book titled "Library; The Drama Within"
(Photographs by Diane Asseo Griliches; Essay by Daniel J. Boorstin;) Ms.
Griliches is a DagNews member of whom I also had the pleasure of meeting
in Boston last April. Congratulations Diane!
Posted for your enjoyment. Gary W. Ewer
