SUBJECT: “This is Charity Chalfant. She was a nurse /midwife in the vicinity of Doe Run, London Grove, Chatham and Avondale, Pa. She was present at the births of all children of Joseph Sharp Quarll and Sarah Ann Vandever Quarll. Total 12 children, 3 boys and 9 girls.” Woman, lace bonnet, collar, large hands.
